    Trilateral Nuclear Energy Dialogue

The Global America Business Institute currently organizes a series of private and public workshops among selected high-level Korean, Japanese, and American nuclear energy policy experts. The ultimate objective of these meetings is to seek areas for trilateral cooperation among these countries on various nuclear energy issues, such as nuclear safety and security, advanced reactor R&D, and decommissioning.

The first ever GABI trilateral meeting took place in New Mexico in August 2013 and featured a trip to the Waste Isolation Pilot Plant (WIPP), a permanent geological repository for the disposal of US defense-related transuranic radioactive waste. Focusing the discussions on spent fuel storage and disposal, an issue where common interests outweigh competition, afforded participants the opportunity to identify shared concerns, challenges, and possible areas for cooperation and collaboration.
